Privacy Policy for Stegano

Data Collection

Stegano does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data, browsing history, or user-entered text. All processing happens entirely within your browser. No information is ever sent to any external server.

Storage

The extension uses Chrome's built-in sync storage to save your preferences, including scan mode, highlight color, and your snippet library. This data syncs across your Chrome devices through Chrome's own sync infrastructure. No data is sent to any third-party server.

Permissions

Stegano requests the following browser permissions:

• activeTab — Grants temporary access to the current tab only when you invoke the extension. The extension cannot read any tab you have not explicitly activated it on.
• scripting — Injects the scanner script to detect hidden Unicode characters on the active page. This runs only when you trigger a scan.
• storage — Saves your preferences and snippet library locally using Chrome's sync storage API.

Third Parties

No data is shared with any third party. The extension makes no network requests whatsoever. It operates entirely offline within your browser.
